fall 2019

Well, its’ about time that I update this thing! I have been incredibly busy with so many different projects, and admittedly I rarely update the text portion of this blog. However, I think it’s probably a good time to do so, seeing that it’s been a few months.

The podcast has been growing consistently for almost a year now, and the Instagram (@LOaltitude) page that I run is getting about 3-4M impressions per week. This is substantially higher than it was about a year ago; and some of you can recall that earlier in the year I split from my previous page.

As I mention in the latest podcast episode, I am actually beginning to plan for the big aviation events next year; most notably SUN ‘n FUN, Oshkosh, Jones Beach (Bethpage Airshow), and some speaking engagements. I hope to see some of you out there. It is truly an incredible time for anyone interested or involved with aviation in any capacity. I sometimes feel like the days at the events go way too fast. One of the things I hope to do is actually record some audio for the podcast products during these really exciting aviation events! There will be more details on that as the time comes.

For now, I want to say to all: I appreciate your fanship so much. My passion for creating media in the aviation industry, something that started as a humble side hobby, has slowly evolved into something quite large and community based. As they say, the sky is the limit. Onward!

CAPTAIN JOE ON AVIATION LO DOWN

In case you missed it, this weekend I had the absolute honor of interviewing everyone’s favorite YouTube aviator, Captain Joe!

Captain Joe does a 55-minute interview on Aviation LO Down, hosted by David Lombardo from ATC Memes! (Long Island, NY)

Cultivating a YouTube following of over 1 MILLION subscribers, Captain Joe is without a doubt one of the most watched and influential aviators today. From his detailed oriented, friendly, and extremely informative videos, to his creative vision and world-wide travel experiences, Captain Joe is undeniably one of the most inspiring pilots within the realm of aviation.

Join me, LO, as I talk to Captain Joe to learn about his story and his channel. From his first flight in a biplane, to being invited to aviation events all over the world, Joe is full of real positive and infectious energy that is hard to ignore. As someone who is well spoken and down-to-earth, Joe not only makes a perfect role model for those interested in aviation, but a role model for those looking to live all of life in a true, artistic, and authentic way.

Summer 2019!

Well, I’m back. For the past few weeks, I have been extremely busy; first I moved, then I had to basically set up my entire recording studio again, and then I went off to San Diego. But I am happy to report, now I’m back, and ready to get started on some more incredible episodes for you guys! I know in the next few weeks I am going to be having more and more of the types of guests that you absolutely love to hear from. We have gotten over 100,000 total listens so far, which is just insane for a podcast of this age, so thanks for the support! Be sure to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, or whatever you use .

Clear skies!

week 2 update!

The past few weeks have been incredible for the Aviation LO Down! We have had over 9000 plays of our podcast, which shot us up to the #1 aviation podcast on iTunes for nearly a week! Last night I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend steveo1kinevo. In that episode (episode 4), he really opens up with some incredible stories, most notably the story involving him and the infamous FAA investigation. I will be down in Lakeland, Florida this April (2nd-7th) with Banyan Pilot Shop, at the annual SUN ‘n FUN Fly-In! I will be there representing my business, ATC Memes. Thanks so much for being a fan of this podcast; it will continue to grow thanks to people like YOU!

Week one – We’re on the charts!

Aviation LO Down atc memes David Lombardo (LO)

Well, the Aviation LO Down podcast has been online just under a week now, and I’m happy to report that it has been getting an extensive amount of positive feedback. Believe me, I think this has a lot more to do with my incredible guest on the first episode, Captain Roger Victor, than it does me, but in any case, this has been very exciting so far!

As of Saturday, February 9th, 2019, the podcast is actually charting as #3 in the Aviation category on iTunes; this is insane to me, considering the show has only been on iTunes for about 4 days. But nevertheless, this demonstrates to me the incredible community that is aviation.

As I mentioned in my first episode, to me, nothing is more real and passionate than the aviation community, and I think this metric demonstrates it. I hope to continue to build this podcast and keep it exciting and interesting. Thank you guys so much, and I look forward to publishing another episode very soon!

First episode is up!

Hey everyone! I was happy to report that the number of people who were interested in learning more about this project was unbelievable; I had many e-mails and messages. I was going to wait a few weeks to record the first episode, but I instead decided to record a simple intro episode. Check it out on the Audio Episodes page! Be sure to follow the podcast on all social media and your favorite podcasting platform!

Episode 1: Welcome to Aviation LO Down!

Aviation Lo Down is a podcast hosted by David “LO” Lombardo from ATC Memes. In this first episode (recorded in a frigid car on a remote recorder), I simply take a few minutes to explain to my listeners what this podcast is all about. What makes aviation so passionate? Why did some people get into aviation? And why is it -49F degrees in Alaska?
Join us on this journey. This will be Aviation LO Down.
